95 Civic Ex wont go past 4500 RPM
Hey so I went to the store to pick up some paint and my car drove fine, on the way back the car would not rev past 4500. It wont go past that no matter what gear im in. Im pretty sure the previous owner had a turbo on it so it might have a tune but ive never had problems with it. It sound like launch control while im driving if that makes sense. My oil levels are fine, I do have a leak but until I fix that I make sure that its always full. I have no idea why it wont go past 4500 please help
If the check engine light is on, you're experiencing the ECU's "limp mode" and the rev limiter will be taken off once you resolve whatever is causing the code. If the CEL is not on you should check if the timing belt has skipped.
The manual doesn't say anything about what degree it should be at and im not sure this this is right for a d16z6 and I cant find anything
Look to see what kind of injectors you have on your car. If you have online resistors could be an indication you have a different injector on your car to compensate for the turbo that was previously on the car. I just went through this with my car. I put factory injectors back on the car and took out the inline resistors and it runs great.
Adjustable cam gears should be set at zero (like yours is) unless you're doing some very advanced tuning. That is not a factory part (the stock gear is one piece with no adjustment) so you won't find any mention of that feature in the service manual.
There will be other marks on the black outer part of the cam gear that correspond to the marks on the factory cam gear and are set the same way.
