So this is a weird one, I have been having this issue for a while now and I'm scratching my head and I can't figure it out. Perhaps someone knows the same problem. EP1 1.4is 2004 (eu spec).

When I am driving over cobblestones or potholes normally you can't hear the knocking sound but as soon as I engaged my clutch (take the power off the wheels) and I drive over a bump it's like someone is using a small hammer on something in the front end and I can feel it even through steering rack. I have noticed that when going agressively from left to right I can hear a clunking sound from my steering rack but that's not the sound I am talking about . Although they could be connected of course I can only hear the knocking sound when :

1. driving in a corner and then hitting potholes,
2. driving over potholes when clutch is engaged,
3. driving over cobblestones and clutch is engaged ( this is the winner in sound department )
4. Going up a gear and partially using the clutch ( in the process of switching gears and I don't clutch straight away but let the clutch slip a bit like in heavy traffic)

Does anyone recognize this and have had the same issue ? It's driving me insane.

My mechanic told me that everything in the suspension department is a ok and all the supporting rubbers and stuff are in great condition. They put it on the rocker table and nothing was loose.
