EK Coupe New Build Starts Today
I recently started a new job and a guy i work with is the only owner ever of a 97 EK Coupe. its white and has literally every bolt on you could get in the fast and furious days. DC 421 header, DC full exhaust, full KN cold air, DC Short throw shifter and even a DC billett battery bracket lol. The cars interior is immaculate.
Cons are the power steering fluid started leaking from the rack. I am toying around with the idea of putting a manual rack.
Also seems like a bad crankshaft position sensor is keeping the engine from firing up. That or soft carbon buildup.
Got the whole car for 300 bucks and looking for advice while i start tearing into it today. Will post pics when i get back home with it.
Cheers!

Day 1 before and after. Got the car it wouldn't turn over. jabbed a screwdriver in the spark plug boot and saw no spark. Grabbed an ignition coil at o'Reilly for 50 bucks slapped it in and she runs like new. The dc header and exhaust even sounds awesome! Thanks to my beautiful fiance for washing the dirt graffiti off of it! Also ran fresh gas and a can o sea foam in her and she burnt out all that old gas from sitting up for a year. 😍

Otherwise just use an oem replacement?
Or is there a better option than the oem rack that will plug n play ?
Interesting, I have a dc2 subframe on an ek hatch using the dc2 lca after a b18c5 swap.
gah, I see what you mean. I only mention the subframe.

I added what I said in case he got a subframe that came without lca’s.
Im way more interested in getting the drums off the back so im also looking for some integra rear trailing arms to convert to discs.
Currently i have the car up on 4 jack stands and im searching for parts.
Heres what i want :
1. Fix power steering
2. Something like koni or tein coilovers all around
3. Something like enkei pf01 15's so im selling the 17s that came with it
4. Rear disc brake conversion
5. Pound out the body issues and repaint the car.
This is where she sits now. Currently im working on sourcing a compatible rear trailing arm setup to replace drums with discs. Any advice on where to find would be awesome. i called my local junk yard and they say 17 bucks a piece for rear trailing arm assembly off a 96 integra. Will that work? Also i think i need the spinnny piece that( hub? Spindle?) That the rotors will mount to. And calipers. Any advice on sourcing them? Thanks!

Before you fix the power steering rack issue, you need to decide whether you’re going to keep the current engine or swap in something else (since some other swaps require an EG/DC2 subframe which are incompatible with the EK steering rack) so you don’t waste money on fixing something you won’t use.

With / once i get to the motor; I was thinking of just rebuilding this one but going with higher grade pistons and internals. Possibly turbo but honestly i wanna get everything else correct first before i decide that. I think a single cam with a low boost setup would be cool. Nothing too powerful, just a little nudge lol. Ill take reccomendations!
Im definitely gonna go with brand new rotors.
Ill probably head to the yard this weekend.
What year integras trail arms fit this thing? 95? 96? All of the above ?
