Icon5 USDM ITR Header same as 97 Spec JDM ITR Header?

I read somewhere that our USDM ITR header is the same as the 1997 JDM model year header. Can someone help confirm this?

Seeing that a stock USDM ITR header is hard to come by.... I may go this route to complete what I have, since, apprently I am in possession of only the top half of the USDM ITR header (I need to confirm it is indeed USDM).

I'm sure someone will have the answer but if not i can take some pics/measurements from the '96 spec header I have in the garage. It is cast, 4-2-1 and the bottom bracket is different to the '98 spec off the top of my head. Also some diagrams of it here - http://www.integratyper.org/specs/im...s/JDM-1996.pdf

No i don't think it's the same. The JDM '96 spec header (should be the same for 97) still has a 2.5" collector, it's just a 4-2-1 as opposed to the 4-1 on the JDM 98+. In contrast, all USDM ITR headers have the smaller 2" collector.

Yup They didn't give the USDM R a 2.5'' collector to the cat on the manifold and the exhaust piping is wider as well I believe. The JDM ITR header will flow better/ more.

But for either originality or smog/carb the usdm header and cat is desired.

i can confirm the top portion is identical between USDM ITR, JDM 96/97 spec ITR and JDM EK9 CTR.

the JDM bottom portion(downpipe) is indeed 2.5" outlet on the collector while the usdm is 2.0".

If you dont have access to an OEM ITR USDM Cat, and If you are going with a "stock" setup, work with what you have in addition to a JDM OEM ITR B-pipe to mate up to your OEM ITR Muffler. You can get a magnaflow or equivalent catalytic converter and get it fitted on the ends to each JDM OEM piece.. or use a JDM catalytic converter for its flanges. Depending where you are at, and if they still use a tail pipe test for smog, the JDM Cat will not pass.. atleast it didnt for me in 2015 when I owned and smogged a 2000 ITR with the JDM Cat. However, Cali laws do not tail pipe test for 2000 & up now and I passed with a OEM JDM ITR 98spec & OEM JDM ITR Catalytic Conveter using a secondary o2 sensor bypass aka spark plug fouler in 2016m so as to not cause a p0420 check engine light code(catalyst ineffiency CEL) . Hope this helped.
