Hi all, my 2000 Integra GS-R is in extremely mint condition, it is accident free, no rust. But the rear bumper bulges outwards right where it meets up with rear quarter panels on both sides of the car. On the rear most end of the rear quarter panels where the sheetmetal curves 90 degrees upwards in the lower most corner the bumper has such a larger gap. If I push in the bumper with my finger at that location it looks better but as soon as I let go the bumper bulges out and creates a large gap. Nothing is loose, everything is tight and there is no body damage or bumper damage.
Could this be caused by the Styrofoam bumper crash insert that goes inside the bumper ? Can it be installed upside down or something like that ? I can't see anything that might need adjustment, the bumper tabs on both wheel wells are perfect and tight., all bolts from the bumper are tight, nothing loose or bent or damaged. I attached a picture, it actually looks worse in person as you cant see the bumper bulging outwards as much in pics. The gap looks okay when seeing it straight on in the pic, but in person there is a much larger gap caused by the bulge outwards on the bumper. Thanks for reading and any opinion on this.
^ yup that is exactly like mine. I guess it must bulge out over time with the wind blowing under the rear bumper, with heat and age causing it to deform slightly. Thanks for all of the replies on this.

Maybe, this bumper has been off from a JDM R so it has come on and off a few times but still seems to fit perfect on my GSR besides this gap we see but its normal I guess.
