Lower Radiator support with steel bar - 1995 Civic
Hey guys,
My lower radiator support is bent up and I'm wondering instead of replacing it with oem/after market lower radiator support, can I just weld steel bars like this guy in his video?
re: Lower Radiator support with steel bar - 1995 Civic
I personally wouldn't, because it would impact the resale value and change the front end collision characteristics. But it's your car, and if neither of those factors are a concern, it's a cheap solution.

How bad is it bent? That was my original plan, but I was able to get mine "good enough" using a come-along. What you don't see in this picture is I also had to chain the back of the car to my Suburban to keep it from moving.

My is not bent inward but upward from jacking it up. I tried to jack it up really high and use sledgehammer but it get pretty unsafe when the car is off the ground that high. I i don't jack it up high enough, the sledge hammer wont have room under the car to work.

If your support wasn't configured like what it was when it left the factory than you have issues. That is when **** can go wrong. I'm predicting you didn't have that middle brace therefore it got bent out of shape.

Nope. It didn't have the middle support bar. It was a previously turbo car that they removed the middle bar to make room for turbo manifold/dump pipe.
