Default I dont know what o2 sensor to buy!

I have a 1996 Civic EX but my issue is that it has a d15b motor swap which has always giving me problems at the auto parts store because they always look it up by car model not by motor so I don't know what to tell them when I need a part for my motor. Does anyone know if the O2 sensors are interchangeable? Also what American car came with a d15b variant that I can just tell the auto parts store to save a bunch of headaches thank you in advance

The D15B vtec did not come on any USDM cars it's JDM only. Most parts for the D16Z6 is compatible with the D15B vtec.

You should need the 4 wire o2 sensor from any 92-95 civic DX/LX/EX/Si. Denso is the ones I have used without issue to date.

Isn’t that going to depend on the harness he’s using?

OP what harness are you using?

Good catch, thank you.

I'm not familiar with the OBD2 cars to know if the O2 sensors plugs changed. That is a 4 wire O2 and initial look it looks very much like the 92-95 but the outside tabs could be off from the 92-95. Let me go take a pic of mine so we can compare.

If it's the chassis harness go with what the chassis/ECU requires, in my opinion.

I could be wrong though. I usually am

Here is the OBD1 4 wire O2 sensor pics, male and female.

It looks to me like the OBD2 went fatter and shorter while the OBD1 is narrower and taller.

Looking it up on autozone it shows the Denso 234-4099 as the upstream O2 for the OBD2 EX.

This same sensor Amazon reports fits my 92-95.

OP are you still running the trimanifold with the cat attached to the header or are you running an EX exhaust manifold and cat under the car?
