Can't get transmission out.
'02 EX Sedan.
I have all the wires disconnected, all the engine mounts out (except timing belt side), all bolts removed (yes I removed the bolts on the torque plate and it spins freely), shift cables removed, and I have a jack under the transmission... Can't get it to come loose and having trouble finding a good spot to get a pry bar in there. I double checked to make sure there are no bolts anywhere. It's literally hanging on by a couple dowel pins.
Any suggestions?

What about the one long starter bolt ??? If all bolts are removed, you should be able to wiggle the transmission and the gap between the transmission bell housing and the block should open enough to get a couple of screw drivers in there and assist in prying the transmission away from the block.
I've had this issue before were it was literally hanging on for dear life by the 2 dowel pins. Wouldn't separate enough to even get a flat head in there. If they've been mated together for a long enough time, this can happen. Really easy to fix though. Just get a large rubber mallet, as a metal hammer will damage the transmission casing, and tap out the transmission that way. Since you can't get anything in there to pry it out, it has to be hit off with the mallet. I would recommend changing the dowel pins before re-installation though.

Although this statement by you is actually false... the FSM does state to remove the starter, but I wasn't suggesting that one way or another and arguing that point is of no consequence. I simply suggested making sure the long bolt through the starter is removed because it doesn't thread into the transmission case... the bolt passes through the starter body, through the transmission case and threads into the block. This pinches all three parts together and thus, prohibits the removal of the transmission.

Got it off this morning, I guess letting it sit overnight it finally shifted a little and I was able to get a pry bar in there. I was able to reuse the dowel pins as well!
Thanks for the advice folks.... :-)
