Default (2018 EX 1.5t) ...is something wrong?

Long story short, I've had my 2018 Accord 1.5t for 11 mos/13k miles. I have almost never gotten the promised 30mpg city/32mpg combined. Only time I get over 30mpg is when spend most of the tank on highways. Even then, highway drives get me at most ~35mpg.

In the past few months, these numbers have been worse. I'd be lucky to exceed 25-27mpg on my typical drives (city). Nothing else about my driving has changed. CVT has been feeling sluggish too, which I feel makes me spend more time on the gas pedal in turn draining my fuel.

I'd be fine with the painfully sluggish CVT, if I was getting the 30/37/32mpg I thought I would. But now I'm wondering if I should've gotten something with Sport mode, or a Hybrid, so I could at least enjoy better MPGs or a more enjoyable drive. IS there anything I can do to improve this?
