Default Dual Linear Solenoid

For the 4-cylinder...where is it? Do I need to remove the air intake box or the distributor to get at it? Schematics show 'top of the transmission' but I'm not seeing it.

Default Re: Dual Linear Solenoid

98-02 AT 2.3s will have the linear solenoids, shaped like an sideways 'H', on top of the trans. Solenoids are laterally mounted not sticking into the case.
You might not see it as the air tube between the air cleaner housing and throttle body may be blocking the view.
