Icon5 Testing the fuel punp without a pressure gauge?

Went to the store, Teg wouldn't start. I don't have a fuel pressure gauge. If I remove the rear seat, shouldn't I be able to hear it for a couple seconds until it pressurizes? ...unless it is dead, of course.

When I tried to start it, it almost fired up a couple times, but after a bit, seemed like nothing left to burn.

I do have a fuel pump motor, I have reason to believe the current fuel pump is original, so I knew I'd need one eventually. No oem for my '90 LS so I got a good bosche brand pump to fit my car.

Any suggestions one how to check it is appreciated.

Thanks

You should be able to hear the fuel pump prime just sitting in your drivers seat. No need to take out the rear seat to listen for it.
