TLDR: Bought an EJ6, friend broke the sunroof on accident. Company who manufactured the sunroof has been out of business since 2006...
Need help finding a replacement. $20 US to anyone who can point me in the right direction

Hi all, this is my first post. I've been looking FOREVER online for the past 3-4 weeks to find a replacement for my sunroof...
Not too long ago I bought a nice little red dx coupe, 5spd. However, my bad luck got the best of me and I lost the keys inside the car as I was cleaning it the day I got it
Called up my friend since he had a similar civic of mine to try to see if his key would work to open it (I was so desperate) we tried many things to break into the car itself but nothing worked.
I had left the sunroof open a crack and it would come up a little as you tugged on it, so my friend tried to get his arm in through the sunroof to get the keys on the seat. He was close, but
shattered the whole glass...

I have been looking for so long for a replacement glass, since it is aftermarket it makes it SUPER difficult to find anything close that'll fit. I called every glass body shop in my area and none of them
could help me, so I seriously hope anyone on here can help me, otherwise i'll take my losses and sell the car as is.

The name of the actual assembly is the Inalfa/Farmont F-700
Dimensions of the glass are 14 1/4 x 30 1/2 as stated Here
Inalfa is the company behind the manual sunroof
Currently out of business

I seem to be stuck, I don't know what to do or where to go for a sunroof... If anyone can help me and can successfully find me a replacement I will send them $20 USD on Paypal.

I don't know your time window, you may need to remove the sunroof molding etc and see what size the hole is cut in the roof and order a different brand that uses the same size hole.

That is the path I will be going with mine since I'm in a similar boat.

 

Yeah. Would you have any suggestions on a brand or where I could get a whole new kit? I know I have the measurements, just not on me ATM. Thanks for the reply!

Just replace the roof cap with one from a non moonroof car. Aftermarket installations are trash.

 

I thought about doing this, then I read online that there is a major risk of shattering your windshield when you’re replacing a roof, and I just don’t want to dig myself into a huge money pit (more than I already am). Plus I dig the aesthetic of the sunroof/moonroof, the seal wasn’t bad when I had it on, didn’t leak didn’t rattle. Did as it should. Anyways if I did have to go with the new roof route how could I go on about it?

Not all. My old CX had an after market sun roof, flip handle style (the rotary ones seem to be junk) and I'm pretty sure it was as old as the car, added by dealer or just after, and it was still in great shape, no leaks. Professionally installed I'm sure.

I also believe westwood body sealer was used to seal the roof ring. Never had an issue with it.

Stop bumping the thread, you've been given options, nobody here is going to do the work for you. If you want a new aftermarket roof then start contacting body shops.
