Choosing the Correct Battery(s) For my Audio System
Hi, before you read I'd like to say any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Problem #1: Should I:
1. One battery to power the entire vehicle and Audio System
2. Two batteries to power the vehicle and Audio System (one battery for each)
If so, do I hook these up in series?
Problem #2: Depending on your answer from problem 1, what battery specs should I be looking for? I know what can run my car (1990 CRX B16B swap), but what about the subs, Wattage, peak current, CCA, ect. Note: Space is not an issue! Seriously, I have plenty of space (I moved all electrical cables to the trunk and have built an adjustable mount).
Here is my audio setup:
Sorry for the horrific picture (wtf am I looking at?)
x1 Kenwood XR900-5
x4 ARC AUDIO 2-Way Crossover Network 12dB/Oct.
total estimated audio wattage ~=1200W ??
So what battery did I have before??
This battery was running both the car and audio system before. I did have problems with it though. If I cranked the volume too loud, the subs would "crash" and audio would cut off. I would have to restart the stereo for it to turn back on. Only reason why I suspect the battery being the issue is because the lights would dim when the bass would hit.
Why don't I use this battery? It doesn't work, for some reason I went to charge it and it blew up!
Again, any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
