93 Honda accord half my electronics just stopped?
Hey guys, new here, I've been the owner of a 93 honda accord sedan for a few months now. This thing has really been through some stuff but between the guy who used to drive it, and myself, both being Mechanics most everything functions properly.
Until about 2 days ago, i parked it with the two front windows down, and when i tried to put them up later none of my windows would function. Naturally i took the door panel off and tried to figure out how to jump it to put them up, thinking the master switch had gone bad as they all worked before. Couldnt get it to work so i put it all back together until i could get a switch, then i drove it, and realized i also have no speedometer, no tach, no gear indicator on the dash, and no dash clock, all the illumination works, the lights on the dash still show when my blinkers are on, and my power locks/mirrors still have power. But ive lost windows and gauges.
Ive checked every fuse and relay that had any indication of going to a window and still nothing. Im thinking it has to be an open circuit somewhere but im not much good with wiring and from the looks of it im not the first person to attack the wiring in this car, where should i be looking to solve this problem?

Guess nobody had the answer. Searched around and couldnt find anyone with the same problem, decided to focus on just one issue at a time and found one guy on another forum that had the same issue but no clear fix posted.
But i did find a couple people saying that fuse #1 in the interior fuse box fixed their windows. I was really cunfused because that fuse is labled "back up lights meter lights (turn signal)" but i pulled it anyway and it was blown. Replaced fuse and everything works.
I dont pretend to know how the wiring runs in this car, but if anybody is having similar troubles, Check that fuse. I think somebody said it supplies the switch power to the relays.

Odd symptoms. I haven't seen it, and not likely others. I don't know much about voltage regulators in Accords, but if it has one, perhaps check it. That type of thing can cause the dash symptoms. Was the car, by chance, a flood car?
If you need a wiring diagram shy of having a full ETM, usually the Auto repair site from the library (AutoMate on Ebscohost) has fairly full wiring diagrams as well as the pass through points
Thanks to the op for posting this. I don't have a '93 Accord, but information like this could be very beneficial to those that do. This is an example of what makes these forums beneficial.
It absolutely was a strange set of symptoms i dont fully understand why those systems are connected like that. Im actually not sure the history on this car short of it was my girlfriends grandma's at one point, then her uncle drove it for a while as a commuter car for work. After that it got left in a big shed behind my girlfriends dads house because nobody wanted to deal with it.
When i wrecked my volvo i was told it had a brake leak somewhere and if i could fix it i could have it. I gave it a brake line, a throttle cable (siezed shut after my first test drive) and a distributor (bad crank sensor) that was already in the trunk.
I do think i remember my girlfriends uncle telling me it had a lot of electrical issues and he replaced the ecu so it may have been a flood car at some point. But this has been the first real problem ive had from it.
Thanks for the heads up on the wiring diagram, im sure i could also print them off pro demand at work but im always a little busy trying to make money.
I hope this does help someone else deffinately, that problem really threw me and it turned out to be a fuse you would never think to check. Anytime i can point somebody in the right direction I'm happy to help.

You may want to poke around under the Honda in places where wires move current from the main harness to their destinations. Cars that sit a long time attract creatures like mice, chipmunks, or other. The don't necessarily vamoose when the car is started again. They might even keep on chewing to work their way deeper into the recesses of their "home." They almost always bring in the kind of furnishings they like, so look for nest-like stuff packed up under there somewhere. They could even be under the dash, really tucked away.
