Shifting problems
So recently my 91 accord has started doing this weird thing where I'll put it in drive(D4) and it'll barely go because it's already in 4th gear. I have to manually put the shifter in 1, then 2 and so on. But if i turn the car off. Turn it back on, everything is fine. I did recently do some work to it. I replaced the O-rings for the spark plug tubes under the rocker arm assembly. And also added a kill switch to my car as well. And ive noticed that when I forget about the kill switch and try starting the car, thats when it does this weird shifting thing. I turn it off, turn it back on, goes right back to normal. I've literally checked every single sensor, line, ground wire, even checked the wiring i did for the kill switch and anything near it. And have found absolutely nothing wrong. Anyone ever deal with something similar??
Whatever wire you tapped into for the kill switch is most likely also the power supply for the TCU. Not every circuit gets a dedicated fuse, most are shared.
Since this problem only happens when you leave the key in II(ON) and then turn on the switch ON then it is most likely you are putting the TCU into limp mode.
Either remember your kill switch, or turn the key to I(OFF) then turn your kill switch on and then turn your ignition back to II(ON) before trying to start.
Or better yet, rewire your kill switch to something that will not cause the TCU/ECU to spaz out and go into limp mode. Normally a starter or fuel pump kill switch is used. Killing power to the ignition/injectors may cause unforseen issues.

See that's the part that puzzles me, it is a fuel pump cut off type of kill switch. After messing around with things a bit, it boiled down to it going into limp mode only when the kill switch is forgotten. Now that I know of this issue, ive noticed too that when i forget about the kill switch, the S light will be on or blinking when I start the car. A simple turn the car off and on again, and the light goes away. But thank you for the response! Unfortunately I am selling her due to getting a new car. Only got to enjoy it for a few months but I'm sure I will own another sometime in the future
