Default 2011 Accord Transmission HELP!

I am really stumped and need all the help and tips i can get. I have a 2011 Accord 2.4L, a couple months ago while driving i hit a puddle and my car sucked up water. It ended up seizing the engine so i swapped it out for another used Engine. Well i swapped to engine myself and got everything running (i have done several Hondas in the past so it was not a first). HERE IS THE PROBLEM! I started the car and it runs Great. I went for a drive and noticed my car will not go into 4th gear(no problems 1st-3rd and NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT). So i came back, checked fluid(level is Perfect), made sure i wasnt leaking fluid(No Leaks) and made sure all solenoids and sensors we connected(All conections are Good AND STILL NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT). I go to back out of the driveway and noticed my car will not engage in reverse. I played with she shifter and still no reverse. I put the shifter back in reverse and pressed on the accelerator slightly and the transmission seemed to slightly engage in Reverse, but not completely( NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT). I never had any previous issues with the transmission, was running great before the engine got water. So i parked the car and did some research. I ended reading up on similar problems with hondas due to bad Shift Solenoids. So i took them off, checked them by applying 12v (they clicked and did not sound weak) and did a resistance test) around 16ohms and Continuity test. I also cleaned out all the sleeves. I put the Solenoids back in and still have the same problems. So i decided to hook up the Scan tool to check for codes. Well 8 codes came up but they Are all pending codes. Here are the codes:

P0102 -Mass Air Flow (MAF) circuit is low
P0113-Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor
P0118-The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
P2649-Arm Oil Control Solenoid Circuit High Voltage
P0974-Shift Solenoid A Control Circuit High
P0977-Shift Solenoid B Control Circuit High
P0980-Shift Solenoid C Control Circuit High
P0983-Shift Solenoid “D” Control Circuit High

Again, these are all pending codes with no engine light on. So just to verify the engine light is working i started the car and disconnected a shift Solenoid and the engine light came on right away! So i left the car on, cleared the code. Engine light turned off and i did another scan, all the same pending codes were still there.

So here are my questions,
1)should i replace all the Shift Solenoids even if i have tested them and all seem to be working ?
2) could it be a TCM issue?
3)could a speed sensor cause these symptoms
4) anything else i should try?

I know its a lot to read but any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a feeling it’s something minor and not major due to the fact the transmission was running great prior to swapping the engine.

I am not exactly a trans guru, but... for that first code

What causes the P0974 code?

Several problems may cause a P0974 code including:
  • Low transmission fluid
  • Dirty or contaminated transmission fluid
  • Damaged or defective wiring
  • Open or shorted wiring
  • Damaged or defective shift solenoid A
  • Damaged or defective ECM (rare)

so here is what I think: slight possibility you nicked a wire and it's grounding to the case (I highly doubt that would be it). 2) ecu damaged ( I don't think this is it) or to me most likely 3) you installed the wrong engine. the ECU (which I'm guessing since you own a honda is in actuality a PCM powertrain control module, controls engine AND trans together, there probably is not a separate TCM) you now have a compatability issue because that PCM wasn't meant to control that variation of the engine, something is off about it whether you accidentally installed a JDM engine or some other thing that's different from your old engine. that's my first guess. but of coarse yes swap out some new solenoids just to see if that could be it because voltage high seems to me like , I dunno what would cause the wrong voltage, perhaps you damage one of the solenoids? chase the engine comparability first.

also let me ask you the most obvious question: did you disassemble that transmission to do stuff inside of it? speaking purely of the rebuild, if you had attempted it...no actually that wouldn't explain why you felt slight engagement of reverse. that's a shift solenoid problem. if your solenoids are bad and they test good they can still be bad, that's why you must swap them in for known good ones or new ones. my best guess is you installed the wrong engine, because why would A,B,C, and D all be faulty UNLESS they are actually part of 1 solenoid assembly. if it's 4 separate solenoid all faulty at once that can't be right. I don't know about your car specifically but there is a double barrel solenoid usually on top, that would be my top culprit, there is a solenoid at the front usually, that's my second culplirt, than there should be 2 sets of 2 individual solenoids side by side. if that's what the fault is calling ABCD that sounds unlikely unless you were really careless because one set is on top and the other on the front side I think.

just to add in case the engine you put in is a newer variant that what you had. if you look up the parts catalog for your honda model, it will list the most current ECU (actually TCM), it will not list all the discontinued part numbers for that ECU most likely. I believe that is because the lastest ECU has the most current or stable software. if your ECU part number (should be a label on the ECU itself probably a sticker on the back, is not the current one try searching on Ebay to see if the latest one is sold for a cheaper price. in that case it would save you from another engine swap. make sure you're not using bernardi or something like that. use legit oem dealer websites like majestic to search your ECU part number
