Default 2002 Honda Civic Help!

I have a 2002 Honda Civic Ex coupe and bought an Ebay Turbo Kit that my local mechanic put together. With said, he didn't know how to tune anything and ended up blowing my engine. I've got about a $2K budget to get this thing back together and on the road. Looking for the best and brightest engine swap along with conversion kits and a turbo that will not kill my pocket book. Can someone please help me ID the right engine, turbo and parts to make this conversion easy? Thanks in advance!

You may be able to get a cheap K series in there for that amount, but I doubt it, The only other option is just throw another D17 back in and enjoy your car. Throwing another "turbo kit" especially an EBay setup is pretty much just a waste of time. Generally they are junk.
Honestly the Kswap will be a much better option, you will be able to get more power with an all motor setup than you would with a turbo d17, and it will set you up for a lot more flexibility in the future.
