Default new ignition/ now programming keys =trouble

-- This mechanic shows a device that will clone keys for you....

My problem is that I bought a new lock and switch for ignition .. Now the dealership can not make for than ONE key program correctly..The tech said the system will not let him program my second key that came with the new system from O'rilley's...He spent 20 minutes , yet it, will not let him do it...
So why can't they erase all the keys and start over??
So far I've spent $80.00 for one key....now good....what happens when I lose the ONE key???

If he’s able to program one key he should be able to do both... if they erase the other keys on the system then it will also disable that one key afterwords since most system need two programmed keys for even one key to work. So I would either take it to a locksmith or go to another shop. It might be a problem with the key itself so trying on another blank key might work.
