I did all that work to get my Accord running (see 'gas tank drop/replace' thread), but I can't get it inspected because the windshield has a spider crack that is too large to repair (palm size). I can get a new one installed right here at home for $250, or buy one for less than half that, and try to install it myself. I was comfortable dropping the rear subframe, but I don't know about handling a windshield. Anyone done it? I'm leaning toward just paying the pros, but the budget is tight after tax day! Any thoughts appreciated

 

On the 98-02 cars there is windshield dam below the glass and the trim above it along with a seal.
Plus all the interior trim that needs to be removed to gain access to the windshield when using the piano wire to cut off the old windscreen.
Even if you get the windscreen for $50 the amount of work would still be fairly daunting without the correct windshield tools.
If the $250 includes new windshield dams and such, that isn't too bad of a price.
