Now that warm weather is consistent, it's time for me to man up and get started on this repair. Big rain tomorrow so the next clear day I'll start the jacking and block process. I don't have enough crib blocks so I may go to Lowe's and have some 4x4 blocks cut. I save every bit of lumber I can get hold of but I don't think I have enough.

I will take pics and keep you guys posted.

Oh? You are doing it too? Concerning those nylon fuel lines at the rear, can those be easily replaced with metal or stainless steel braided lines?

Also, that large black plastic device at the rear of the car, just forward of the fuel tank, is that the charcoal canister?

*As to "progress" I gathered up all my 2x4, 2x6, 4x4, and crib blocks I have for the jack up and blocking. Hopefully those are enough. I save all good wood I come across or have left over from other projects.

 

Began jacking and blocking up the car today. It's not quite high enough but going after it again tomorrow. My dad made some heavy-duty jack stands back in the 1970's when he was a welder in a coal mine repair shop. I plan to use those. Those were built to hold a 1975 Pontiac Bonneville so I am sure they'll hold up my Accord.

I plan to start a separate thread tomorrow with detailed pics. Also I will begin calls to get the wheels powder coated. Still trying for a 2-tone scheme.

 

Essentially done with jacking her up. At the moment she is resting on four 4x4's and one 2x4 at each of the four jack points behind the front wheels and ahead of the rear wheels. I may move the rear blocks tomorrow to make her more solid. I wanted to go higher but I had so many blocks on my jack that it was getting a bit unstable.
