Since the compressor clutch is activating, the ECU and A/C control are communicating. I suspect you simply have a loose or crimped wire somewhere in the vicinity of the aftermarket radio diddling.

You're gonna hate doing it, but the best recourse is end-to-end continuity testing of all relevant wires in the harness that run between the A/C control and the blower--and that likely means removing the radio, at least for the time being. You'll need to get access to--and remove--the harness connector at the blower housing as well as the harness connector in back of the A/C control (that's what "end-to-end" means).

I recommend you borrow or purchase a multimeter that includes 1) back-probes, and 2) an audible continuity test feature; and...
I strongly recommend you reference the Blower Motor Circuit Troubleshooting procedure printed in the '97 Accord Honda Service Manual (the procedure may be similar for other model years).

Did the fan speed connector pop off above the radio? or pull on the blower motor wires?

If the fan speed selector switch is engaged and the A/C clicks, back probe the fan by the passenger feet. See if there is 12volts on the DVOM. Fan could be dead.
