2000 Accord keyless entry doesn’t work - bad multiplex unit?
Hi all-
The keyless entry in my 2000 Accord SE hasn’t worked for a while now. Every so often, it will work, but usually just for the driver’s side front door.
i have read/heard that one possible reason is a bad passenger’s side multiplex control unit.
Does anyone know how to test to see if it’s a bad unit or not?
it could be the lock motors themselves, but all 4 of them? Unlikely I think.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Before you presume the worst, I believe the multiplex system whatnots have a self-diagnostic mode. You might attempt to put the system under that mode to see if any trouble-codes result. You can then proceed from that point.
There's probably a video or two that illustrates the procedure--I advise you do that research first. Basically you induce self-diagnostic mode by shorting the multiplex connector mounted up inside the driver's side foot well. With the ignition switch set to "On" (one click), the system will produce a series of beep codes to indicate some type of fault. (Presumably no beeps indicates no faults detected under self-diagnostic mode.). I'm pretty certain the procedure is documented in the '00 HSM, available on-line (a link to which is buried somewhere in this forum).
