I have a 95 accord lx coupe and have 2.25 inch piping with stock headers with a cat, 2 resonators, and a magnaflow muffler and my car is still raspy up until 3k rpms. I can't get it to go away and it's so annoying.

 

The exhaust is probably rattling somewhere rather than the note itself being "raspy"

 

Two resonators?
I would stick the largest single resonator you can find, think 30" or whatever can fit after cat before the first 90º bend.
If you have two short resonators in place the sound wave you are trying to attenuate is probably just flowing through those two resonators without any affect. That's why the largest single body resonator(glasspack) that you can fit in the mid-pipe is the best at removing that low level rasp.

Also which Magna flow muffler did you use?
They are usually pretty damn good at mellowing out exhaust. Had a neighbor put two rather large Magnaflows on his 460 powered F series, thing is quiet as a kitten now.

That will come into contact with anything larger than stock diameter piping, just remove the nut and the damper, and make a racket off idle.
If the Magnaflow is the largest muffler you can fit in your rear section then I would look into the resonators and replace them.
Resonators will kill the drone/rasp.
Muffler will tune the tone of the exhaust.

 

My headers are stock but the rest of the piping is 2.25. So is that piece a spacer or what?

On blocks have a buddy rev the engine around 3k RPM. Float the revs around in N and feel the exhaust shield or component for vibration from underneath.

The OE header manifold is double walled along with the B pipe , so it can rattle internally.

 

Thanks for giving me a justifiable reason to replace my oem headers :D

 

Stick a turbo on it. That'll shut it up.

 

Problem with that mass damper is that it would only contact the exhaust under load, so free revving it in neutral showed nothing.
When the engine is under load the engine rotates and pulls the exhaust with it about an inch, the heavier the load the more engine(and exhaust) movement.
Getting the car up on a lift/blocks that allows about a foot of movement should be able to get you to find the location of where the rattle is coming from.
I've had a friend put the car in Reverse and then 2nd gear to load the engine a bit and get some movement. Only took a few minutes then to locate my rattle problem.
But you really need to trust your co-worker when doing the above.
