I have a honda civic hatch 1.4i 2003 which has been very poorly for the last 6 months.

The faults are; reduced power, juddering around 2k revs, hardly accelerating at all over
3k revs (yes OVER 3k revs not under - its fine under 3k)and in 2nd gear upwards an inability
to reach 4k revs. (The car will rev up to 4k but from looses all power even though its revving)

The problem is so bad it will be down to 40mph when going uphill on the motorway.

The only prior trouble with the car has been the crankshaft sensor of which we are on the
3rd. With the most recent fault the code we were getting was egr - insufficient flow,
so we replaced that and its improved the car got rid of the fault code but stil left with the
low power issue as detailed above.

Fault codes: The only fault code we have is PO172 System too rich - bank 1
