Had this problem since I got the car, just been putting it off as a minor nuisance and thinking that it would require replacing the switch or something in the column. But now I am wondering if it isn't just an electrical problem.

When I hit the left turn signal, sometimes it will just make a loud buzzing noise for a few seconds, before the turn signal actually comes on. Sometimes I have to switch it on and off a few times for it to start working. The right turn signal has always worked normally. It seems to be worse after the car sits for a while, then with more use it gets a little better.

'91 HF with a lot of hacked up wiring that I've attempted to fix.

 

i had that problem last year dude but for me it only lasted about two days
then this happend


it also blew the fuse for the brake lights
luckly i had a spare tail light harness so i snipped a new socket from it
and got it hooked up to the one in the car
and so far so good ^_^

 

Haha well mines been doing it for over two years. Think it's a short somewhere in the wiring? Or possibly the ICU?

 

i think youve just been lucky and your light bulb connector just refuses to die
try removing the bulb and putting a little grease on the contact

it might just fix the buzz

 

So today the signal was just buzzing and buzzing until I would turn the wheel, then it would kick on. I'll make sure bulbs are good, but also thinking it might be the combination switch if that doesn't work.
