EM1 Fromt Swaybar Overkill?
Hey guys, so basically I’m just wondering if the EM1 factory front sway will be overkill for my setup, it’s mostly a street performance style car by the way. Currently gonna be running no rear sway this year. Setup:
Zeal function coil overs 12k front and 10k in the rear.
Function 7 LCA
ASR subframe brace
hoping to switch out a DC2 subframe and steering rack this year though, and possibly an ASR 24mm rear sway.
Will the car feel more balanced without the front sway seeing as how there will be no rear? Or will the body roll be unbearable?
Thanks guys I’m new to high end suspension stuff like this

PS (car is a “mostly” stock EM1)

You're asking about the factory sway bar then? Not sure what you mean by overkill?
Leave it in. The factory setup is dialed toward understeer...so it will retain some of that factory mannerism.
Sway bars are meant to control body roll.
Idk how to answer this though....or what the question is...sorry.

Basically I have to run no front sway for the summer, would the car feel more balanced if I was to temporarily remove the front until sway I get a new ready?

Without the gigantic front bar, there will be a LOT more body roll and the car won't be as stable on the highway or over bumps.
You can find out for free, to what extent this will affect your car by just simply un-doing ONE of the 4 link nuts. Zip tie your link to the bar or LCA to keep it from flopping around.
If you don't like it...then re-connect the link.
It takes like 5 mins and a test drive.

well I mean there won't be THAT much roll with 12 kg/mm springs, I mean damn that's stiff AF. Roll bars help control body roll without having to resort to super-stiff springs. But since your springs are super stiff anyway I don't think it will make that much difference if you don't have a front sway bar connected. I've even heard of people running super stiff suspension on a track to run no front bar but with a rear bar to make the car easier to rotate around corners. But that's really only applicable on a track. You shouldn't really be trying to slide around on a public street.
