Hi there I am new to honda tech.
So I am researching a possible head swap. F22b1 block and a pr4-4 head to go into a 99 civic 2 door with a 5 speed tranny. So I'm curious if in fact all the main parts , block , head and 5 sped manual trans will work together with the ecu that supports vtec and 5 speed man trans (original) the original motor blew and this is a alternate . the f22b1 is complete. The pr4-4 is a head I just got . the f22 has automatic trans on it. The two options for manual trans are p5b from a 01 civic V tech d17A2 block or a s40 from the original 99 motor I believe. Any suggestion or concerns with this Frankenstein project that I should consider or even not do? Let me know. This is a new venture to me.
Hey man, im trying to help my friend with the exact same swap.F22b into a 99 civic 2 door with a 5 speed tranny. I was wondering if you found out if the S40 tranny works with the F series block? What all had to be changed for it to work?
With an "H2B" conversion system... yes, it works... ish. There are going to be significant modifications and concessions to do this swap.
