Default 1995 Delsol A/T - Key won't turn to 0 position

Car starts and runs fine. If I shift out of park and back into park, the key will only turn to the 1,2,3 positions (it doesn't push inward at all, like it's locked). If I wiggle the key for a couple of minutes (essentially trying to take it out), it will eventually come out. Unhooking the battery makes the key come out just fine, so I'm assuming it's an electrical problem. I've unhooked the park pin switch, so that isn't what's causing it. I unhooked the ignition switch, and the problem still exists. It doesn't seem to be the brake sensor, because pushing the brakes doesn't make it better or worse. The car does have an aftermarket Viper alarm that I don't use (key fob broke), and that has remote start. Any chance that could be the issue?

If it helps, the issue came with the car a couple of years ago, but has only recently gotten progressively worse.

Did you try turning the steering wheel when you turn the key?
