Oil Leak
Hello,
I have 2005 CRV with an oil leak that is hard to determine where it is coming from. The oil is getting on the serpentine belt so it was on a lot of parts, front of engine, etc. Cleaned off the engine with with brake clean and ran with the belt off. Checked the VTEC solenoid, pre filter housing by the belt tensioner, crank seal, valve cover, PS seal and did not notice a leak. Put the belt back on and noticed oil being slung off the belt in tiny drops on the frame below the crank pulley. There was oil on the hood sound proofing material as well. I thought maybe crank seal but there is no oil being dripped down or on the back of the pulley. Thought maybe the PS pump but that seems like it is too clean, there is oil residue but not on the very bottom where you would think it would be leaking.
Ideas?
Thanks for your help!

Inspect your belt very closely, see if it is wearing more on one side or just in general (outer and inner surfaces). My belt was becoming worn on one side after getting oil on it from a leaky crank seal and was getting so warm bits of tacky rubber were getting flug and sticking to the hood and frame just as you say (still have the proof). Of course continue to monitor for an oil leak but it may be your belt starting to deteriorate. If there was oil on the belt then there will most likely be oil on all the pullies so make sure they are clean as well, easiest to do when changing the belt, and if you do change it spend the little bit extra and buy it from Honda. Hope this helps.
