what gauge wire for taillight eg civic?
I may need to bridge a bad connector so I need to know what gauge wire is needed, anyone know? I was going to try to crimp on some new spade terminal connectors too, does anyone know the type I need? So many different sizes out there...thanks
usually 22AWG
grab some from the local salvage yard....
Solder, cover with heatshrink tubing. That's the correct way to splice in wire.

Can you find a parts car with the rear harness intact and replace it in one piece?
Cutting off the light side of the connector when it is still good is just a hatchet job.

ok, so the lights now work! so far so good. But with my crimp connectors and the replacement connector, they are loose and will rattle around and bounce with each bump. This was clearly hacked before I got the car, and it lasred for year...but I woulfd like to anchor these down a bit more so that there is no movement in the wires and connector, any thoughts? I was wondering about a magnet and a ...? I think on the unbutchered ones the connector slides into a plastic mounting bracket, mine is likely long gone...
thanks again. I promise to read more carefully this time too

it is all wired now just need to shrink wrap the connectors and anchor this tngleweed and the new connector so they don't bounce and rattle...any suggestions? maybe if I just push them all into the hole in the molding it will suffice...they are small wires! no eg civic in the bone yards around here anymore...where have they all gone? that is not good looking forward...
