Lx with a sunroof???
Ok, so I'm at Walmart today and I notice an ej sedan like mine (96-98) and was admiring it. It looked completely stock, and clean af. Then I notice the lx badge on the trunk. I was under the understanding that only ex models came with a sunroof. I was being rushed by my misses who found my discovery quite uninteresting and unimportant, so I didn't have a lot of time to do much investigating on the beauty of a car. From the research I did when I got home it still seems that the ex trim models were the only ones fitted with sunroofs. Like I said, car was super stock and really clean, I'd have a hard time believing it had been rear ended and fitted with a different trunk.. so am I wrong here? Is there something I don't know? Stupid, yes, but it has my curiosity.
Cool, thanks for the infiono. So it's a different sunroof bc it didn't come standard, but was an option? And was it an option on the dx as well? I'd guess not but might as well ask.
my sister had a DX sedan with an aftermarket sunroof. looked nearly the same as factory from the outside.
you can always reference the 4th, 5th and 6th digits of the VIN for a honda/acura to find the exact trim. EJ6 would be DX/LX, EJ8 would be EX (for 96-00 Civics specifically).

These are often leaky aftermarket ones if they're on an otherwise unmolested DX or LX. That or the trunk was changed and therefore the badging.
maybe the car i have got a good one, but no leaks and it still works great. i messed up when i said factory option, they were dealer options.
Ive never heard of dealer options. In this case the factory would send the dealer a car without a sunroof and the dealer would have it installed?

Factory Optional = Came with this "optional equipment" from the factory, and is included in the sticker price at the dealer.
Dealer Optional = Ready to buy? Well also look at these cool genuine OEM Honda options we can upsell you! You wouldn't drive away without floor mats/a roof rack/rear speakers, would you? Also possible are non-OEM Honda options, like this leaky sunroof!

Nailed it. luckily for me, i bought the 00 from it's second owner, who bought it as a certified used car from Honda off lease. Prior to me getting my hands on it, it never saw so much as an oil change outside of a Honda dealership. Somehow, that translated to a functional non leaking aftermarket roof.
