Engine cranks but no fuel.
I changed the fuel pump & relay. When i jump the relay fuel comes out at filter. There is a CEL but when i jump the 2 wire connector & turn on the key to run position the light comes on but does not flash. I've checked all the fuses & did a visual inspection & don't see anything out of ordinary. Any ideas where to check next? Could it be the ECU? Thanks
With the jumper NOT in place (i.e. car set up for normal driving), turn key on but don't crank. The CEL should come on for 2 seconds and go out. If it comes on and stays on you have a bad ground, bad main relay, or bad ECU. If the light eventually goes out several seconds or minutes later and you can then start the car, the money is on the ECU.
I turned the key on & waited. The CEL never goes off. What grounds should I check? I've seen on other posts to check the ground at the thermostat housing but i don't see one. There are 2 different sensors but the wiring seems to be good.

There is not a "fuel pump" relay in you car. There is a main relay called the PGM-FI main relay that controls the fuel pump among other things. Im assuming this is the one you replaced as it is located next to the fuse panel. The main relay will have about 10 wires coming off of it. To see if the PCM is working you will want to check the green and yellow wire on pin 1 on the main relay. The pcm grounds this wire to turn on the fuel pump. So you will want to check for ground on this wire when you first turn the key on (this is the ecm priming the fuel pump for a few seconds) and will only have ground for a few seconds and you will also have ground when cranking.

The DelSol may be different but in the Civic the main relay is mounted inside the car rights above the lever that opens the hood. It is known to have problems with the solder joints inside, so the first thing to do is remove it and take it apart and re-solder. There are numerous instructions around the internet.
I just got home & put the ecu back in, pulled the old main relay apart & didn't find anything wrong with it. I turned on the ignition & heard a click from the relay & the fuel pump kick on. I turned the key to start & it started. It doesn't run good but at least it started. The check engine light was on so I shut the engine off & jumped the 2 wire at the ecu. I got a code 04 ( crank position sensor). The only thing I can think is when I had the ECU open or disconnected i moved something but don't know what. I guess I'll check out the CPS for now. I'm also guessing the no start will probably come back eventually.
Back at it again. The new distributor had a bad CKP so i put an old one back in & it fixed that portion. Now it starts intermittently. Sometimes the main relay kicks & the fuel pump comes on, sometimes it doesn't. I hate to buy a $300 ECU just to test it. Once I install it's mine & I don't have $ to throw away. Any other ideas?
Replaced ECU ran great for a day, drove it to work this morning & about 30 minutes into the drive it started acting like there was no fuel if i throttled it up. If I eased into it it would go but thats as good as it would do. I checked the code & it gives me a 4. Is it possible that sensor went out as well? I tend to think it's an issue with the reman ECU.
