Default P28 + Imobilizer

I just a bought 99’ VTi with no engine but the key was included in the car and I have a B16A2 to put in the car and was thinking if I install a P28 ECU, would it bypass the key that was included? Do I have to get it mapped or something like that? I was told I could run a P28 and it will work with the key that came with the car, I just wanna get sure about this.

If the P28 is an OBD-1 ('92-95 model years) USDM ECU, it does not recognize the Immobilizer system in the car and thus will ignore it. You will not have to reprogram the key. The green key light will blink unless you unplug the green plug from the back of the immobilizer ring.

Immobilizer is ecu based. If you change ecu you dont have immobilizer anymore. Keys work as normal
