Default Installed new fuel filter and still leaks

Anybody have this issue? I replaced with a Purolator fuel filter cause it had a slight leak and I could not find replacement washers at 3 different stores so I bought a new filter and the #$@#$ thing still @#$#@ leaks. I never had this issue with a Fram filter. Is there a trick? I need to get this car smoged and that will fail it. I think the banjo bolt design really sucks.

And just to make sure, you're putting a washer on each side of the fuel line correct? Those things usually have to be pretty tight - I've had them leak on me before and I just had to give it another 1/8 of a turn.

Yes. New washers on both upper and lower. Cleaned real good. I read somewhere that some people use Loctite or gasket sealant. Have them on both real tight, any tighter and I might snap the bolt. Although I did not use a torque wrench. Maybe I try to tighten em up even more. BTW do you know what the torque is supposed to be?
Thanks

if you use a new crush washer on both sides, it shouldnt even matter what the quality of the filter is.

and you really should be looking at the shop manual. its the easiest thing to find and download online.

I have the FSM and looked up the torque specs. But how do you torque that weird 2 sided bolt head? Special socket or torque wrench?
