PG7 will work fine, as long as it is 88 or 89 (86 and 87 won't work) - not much difference between PM6 and PG7 - biggest difference is fuel cut-off rpm - PM6 = 7000 rpm - PG7 = 7500 rpm

I have found a chipped pm6 for $160 on ebay. Is this a good price or go chipped p06 and do an obd1 conversion?

A p06 would be closer to the d15b2 that you have over the pm6/pm7, but if you already have the pm7 it should run it fine.

Seems kind of steep, unless you need it to be chipped. I got my PM6 on the H-T classifieds for $10 about a year ago.

I was going to install the d16zc head that the cam came with until I learned that it would lower my compression ratio.

DOHC ZC wont fit SOHC block , all obd0/obd1 SOHC NON VTEC heads are all EXACTLY the same head casting just difference in cam of usdm vs jdm , soo if single cam only difference is cam not head. if dohc it wont go on a sohc block , use THE MF CORRECT ECU THAT CAME WITH THE GD MOTOR - there is no MAGIC UNLOCK POWER button or THIS ECU RUNS THE MOTOR SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER ... doesnt work that way

If you are mixing and matching parts, like a d15b2 block and head with a sohc ZC cam and a mpfi intake there is no ecu that's "tuned" for that setup. If you want it to run correctly you'd want an obd1 ecu and a tune. The PM6/PM7 or a P06 ecu will run the engine, but no guarantee as to how well or what your gas mileage will be.

I thouhgt that I was buying a d16a6 head. The seller said that is what it was. When I checked the casting number, it turned out to be a d16zc head instead.

A single cam non-VTEC ZC head is basically the same as an A6 head, with slightly more aggressive cam timing. That's what I've been told.

By "shaving", do you mean resurfacing? If so, this has no impact on what throttle body you run. Your throttle body has to match up to your intake manifold, which in turn has to match up to your head, but again, resurfacing the head won't change what intake manifolds fit.

I ment to say what timing belt should I use. If I resurface the head 0.040", what kind of compression could I get if I put it on my b2 block with the stock pm3 pistons?

0.040" is a lot to remove from the head. I'm not even sure that's possible without having valve-to-piston clearance issues using stock cam / pistons / rods. You'll need to degree your cam and you'll likely need an adjustable cam gear. Not sure what timing belt you'd need.

I'm not an expert, but that still seems like a lot. Talk to your local head shop. Most of the time they're only taking of a few thousandths.
