2009 Accord occasional clunk

2009 Accord occasional clunk
A clunk from front end occasionally , sometimes on a flat road on the highway. No other symptoms.
Today,on New Years Day,I lost all drive after a loud clunk.
Towed to my mechanic, will find out tomorrow, but I think it is the axle.
Had the same problem a few years ago, hit the wheel on a post making a hard backup turn, same noise, same failure.
Don't think it is the transmission.
Only 300 miles away from 200,000 miles. I love this car.
