Seatbelt beeping rabbit hole
So I’ve really dug myself in a hole here. I’m driving a 1991 Honda Accord lx. The seatbelt warning light constantly flashes and beeps. This has happened for over a year now since I’ve owned the car.
Ive tried many solutions now. I tried some disabling tactics at first, like the safety ones in the manuals. Those didn’t work. I then snipped the wires going to the lap belt clip. That also did not work and I’ve cut them pretty short so resplicing will require introducing new wires, which I can do if I’m sure that’s the correct course of action.
My most recent solution was to attach the two wires going to the circuit inside the seatbelt together thinking they’d close the circuit without needing to run trough the seatbelt. That also did not work.
Does anyone have any solutions? I’m completely lost.

There should be a connector under the seat that lets you break the connection between the latch and the system, but if you have the automatically retractable belts, it may not be the same. I know nothing about those automatic belts. If you have that type, and the belts also are not going into and out of position properly, then there may be something wrong with that system that is throwing the warning.
Not sure how cutting the wires might impact you, but on that safety system, a Honda dealer might fix it under warranty. Don't quote me, but Honda once had a lifetime warranty on seat belts.
