New owner / old hatch (EK)
Years back I had an EG hatch, a VX that I got new. Eventually my BIL’s roommate stole and totaled it one night.. A couple weeks ago I decided I wanted another civic and found a ‘99 for a good deal. The engine may be shot- owner didn’t know what was wrong but it’s missing a few things- starter, plug wires, distributor, probably more. Car only has 110k on it. I’m trying to decide how to proceed. Get another d15y7 or try putting this one back together?

My goal is a good mpg car for commuting. My new job is about 35 miles down the freeway. Probably not gonna duplicate what the old vx did but hoping for 40. Will a d16y7 pull that off? It’s a 5 speed DX btw
