car wont move after i changed alternator out

Default car wont move after i changed alternator out

i replaced alternator and belts. it seemed i could shut of car turn it back on and transmission would work fine i drain transmission fluid and refilled now im getting nothing but reverse now and then. i feel like its something simple im missing. its like transmission has no pressure in it

Most auto transmissions need to be started up, warmed up and cycled through the gears slowly then topped off the fluid correctly. I'm sure you can find a more accurate description of this process by searching for what tranny you have.

Your thread title is misleading.

your car won’t move because you changed the transmission fluid.

Did you cycle through PRND while stationary for about 20 seconds in each gear?
