j32a2 swap in ej1 - Is there a way to bypass the purge solenoid for this swap?
So just about to put a j32a2 engine into my 93 civic. the charcol canister has long since been deleted. Any one know an easy way to "bypass" the purge solenoid for the purge vapors. Or can I just leave it plugged into the harness and not connect the hoses to anything
The purge solenoid is for fuel economy and emissions. If you're not concerned with either just remove it and block off the port on the manifold.
I'm curious, why do folks opt for J32A1 and J32A2 swaps when the J32A3 makes more power; is it because the head casting with the built-in exhaust collector makes it hard to fit?

I went for the A2 over the A3 strictly for the fact it has the built in collector. And you cannot find A/M manifolds.
I know what they are for and how the systems work. I have removed the factory fuel tank or a smaller fuel cell, which is why I dont have a canister or any vapor system parts on my current set up. Just dont want a CEL to come on.

Thats odd......
How is this odd. If I were to disable it on my truck, and leave it plugged in, it would detect that there is no flow through the purge solenoid. This would set an engine light. I havent played around with any obd2 hondas. So im not sure how the algorithm is in the ecu.

The a3 does have the built in collector, I have yet to find any A/M manifolds for it
The thing about the A3 is there is no such a thing as an exhaust manifold for it; the manifold is effectively cast into the head. As I understand it, the cast in collector will outperform any custom exhaust arrangement for the port-type heads of the earlier heads. I have no idea if this is absolutely correct, but that's the buzz on the street.
