Leaking fuel filter
So I recently changed my fuel filter on my 1996 Honda Accord. The first one I put in, started leaking. I found that the crush washer was pretty much embedded into the fuel filter threading. So I went and bought a new one, and installed that one. I used the new crush washers the package came from, and once I started the car, it started spraying fuel from the washers. I’ve tried just about everything, including using the old crush washers, and it still leaks. Anybody have the same problem or some advice?
Well the bolts were tightened as much as they could be tightened. I just put in the old fuel filter, and it did not leak. Which raises the question as to why the new fuel filters were not cooperating with my vehicle.
Make sure to back up the filter with a wrench when tightening the bolt, the filter holder bracket is not capable of holding any torque.
Are you using TWO new washers on either side of the hose fitting for the banjo bolt?
It should be; Bolt>washer>hose>washer>filter.
