Crap....I may be selling my car after all. :-(
Unpleasant finding......I was just under my car and found out why the plastic trim down the driver's side sags a bit at the back. I was hoping a clip there was broken but no, the clip is fine, there's just a fist-sized rust hole in the underside! There's nothing for the clip to clip to.
Jack point is still solid but dang, I wish I had known that before having the dog leg replaced!
What to do? Fix that also and continue or speed up plans to sell car?
*I'm charging my camera so I'll try to post a pic.

1) Speed up plans to sell, if you can. Sounds like a headache like mine. If it wasnt for the fact I paid $200 for my car and do all the work myself, even mine would have been long gone. Heck, even after I repolace the timing belt, she is getting a new home.
2) cut it all out if the rust is only on the thin body part, get some POR to paint the edges (or some good layers of primer), a ltittle fiber glass in stretegic plaes for the clips and ride it out.
Obviously you now know to go grab a sandwich and spend 3 hours under the car poking and prodding EVERYWHERE to see whats going on. If the rest is good to go, just ride it out (pun intended). Less metal is a weight savings anyways.
