I have a 2004 CRV 4WD 5 speed. I bought it used a few months ago - took it for it's first oil change. The shop had me reset the maintenance light - and shortly after pulling out of the oil change shop, the electrical all started to die, and eventually the car just died. I got a jump and barely made it back the few miles home - with every dash light eventually coming on and the guages all failing including tac and speedometer. I tested the battery at autozone - which was supposedly OK - so I assumed it was the alternator - and I bought a refurbished one there. Replaced it - everything seemed fine, but then the battery started losing charge again - we bought a new battery. Everything seemed fine for a while - but eventually lost charge again. Did I just buy a bum alternator, or could there be something else going on with the computer system? Thanks!! Of course, when I talked to my Dad later he said his mechanic said never to buy parts at AutoZone - so maybe that is it after all? Please advise!
