Is the scratches to bad to get machined or is it fine to run the way it is?

Looks pretty bad. I was able to fix mine using a dremel tool with a 400 grit flap wheel and my damage was a little worse then that. Try to take away the least amount of material till it feels smooth to the touch with no bad high spots.
