91 Civic Battery Issue At Startup
Hi all,
Recently, I've noticed a weird issue with my car at start up. When I turn the ignition, the crank will sound/act a bit sluggish, the battery light will turn on, and then it will start normally. I don't have to crank it any longer than usual, it's just that it's a bit sluggish and the battery light turns on. The battery light does not come on while driving, and it appears the issue is worse if it's been sitting longer.
I replaced the battery back in April, so I'm leaning away from that, but what should I look at? What do you guys think this could be?

well theres two things to thik about here
1st
is it cold out when you go to start your car in the morning?
if so then your battery is just cold and not giving its full power
2nd
not all batteries are made equal
a battery can drain a little bit after a few days of not useing it
this will also give you the slow start
now if after your first start up of the day
if anytime after that you go to use your car again lets say like after work for example ..and it starts right up
then the problem is 1 or 2
not really something to worry about
untill it gets worse!!! haha
one thing that no one seems to ever do is check the fluid level of the acid on the battery
i check mine about twice a year
every 6 months
keeping your battery full will give it a year or two of more life
