Ep3 5 speed final drive swap
My dirt track ep3 needs alittle more speed in second gear. It needs to reach 77 in 2nd gear to be hitting rev right before the turn. Currently it will hit 65 and bigger tires won’t increase it enough to help. My plan is to change the 4.764 final drive in the 5 speed to a 4.0-4.2 aftermarket final drive. The internet has them but they seem to all be marketed towards the RSX-S 6 speed. My question is, will an aftermarket final drive for the 6 speed work in my ep3 trans? One marketed towards the ep3 are much more rare.
The 5spd is the same as the 6spd, it just uses spacer collars in place of 6th gear and a few other changes. The EP3 uses a 35mm clutch housing bearing so it won't need to be changed. You can click the link in my signature to order an MFactory 4.0 FD.
Hes reffering to the final not a 5/6 swap.
Dirt: Let me know if you need any info/help parts. MFATORY/GEARX/SQS/GTS/SAENZ/ALBINS and more
OEM/Aftermarket sets etc. You WILL need to verify WHICH bottom counter bearing (clutch case bearing) as mentioned in the above 2 posts whatever set you buy uses as they DO NOT all use the same. Some use the large, some small... Independant of what the sets "geared towards" (pun intended), or how they are listed

Thanks everyone for the help! I decided to go a different route with this. I found a great deal on a pnn4 with LSD which is geared perfect! I know the swap is more work but also will be a much greater payoff for having limited slip on dirt.
