I have an ls, that is unfortunatley an automatic, and would like to get a b18c. With the swaps you get off ebay that claim they include everything needed, how much additional parts/labor would be needed to get that damn automatic tranny out of there. Also, how much can i expect to pay for the entire swap w/ the manaul tranny conversion from a professional tuner/normal mechanic. Do you really need a honda tuner to do the sway? My uncle's a mechanic, would he be able to do it correctly?

 

sell the LS.. and get a GSR or 5-Speed LS.. it will be less work and prolly less expensive!

 

I don't think its that hard. I'm putting an b18b motor in my automatic civic. Luckily i got most everything i needed with the swap, so i didn't have to buy too many parts. Also this is my first swap, and I got the motor out in about 5 hours. I'm thinking the wiring is going to be a b!tch. I'm sure if your uncle is a mechanic, he could handle it. Also this board has some great info. Do a lot of searches. Also i think shops charge anywhere from 1000 and up, especially to do auto to manual conversion. But shop around. They might have package deals. Good luck!
