2000 Civic Sedan. Power Folding vs USDM Mirror Actuator
So i've got a set of sedan power folding mirrors on my 2000 Civic Ex that I have had wired up for years now. Last week however while backing into my garage my passenger side mirror just clipped the side of the door causing the plastic pins/ball socket on the actuator to break off.
I know I can buy a new Mirror Actuator (the part that tilts the mirror up/down and left/right) for about $50. I'm curious if the USDM ones that go inside our non-folding mirrors are compatible with the JDM folding ones as the mirror housing molds are a bit different and wire locations may be off.
Part Number in question is 76210-S01-A15

Re: 2000 Civic Sedan. Power Folding vs USDM Mirror Actuator
Not sure why they wouldn't. I have dealt with Subaru and VW folding power mirrors and the wire just runs from the door, up through the hinge. So if the wire is long enough I dont see why not, but I don't have any experience with the honda mirrors so take it for what its worth.
btw, on my subaru I just depinned and repinned the wires so I didnt have to rip the interior door panel off, etc...

Yeah i figure some de pinning will be in order. Though the Factory Service Manual says to cut the old harness to ease removal lol.
I'm hoping the actuator is the same and has the same mounting location/mirror for the JDM unit as we have here in the US. Just waiting on if its worth the $50 risk in buying a new part. (Currently my ghetto tape mod seams to be holding)
