Default Does the B16A2 equipped Del Sol have a FTP sensor?

I'm trying to figure out if the B16A2 equipped Del Sols (96/97) had a FTP sensor that is found in some of the civics.

I don't THINK they did, but tough finding information on line. Best I have been able to do is try to find a Honda part number for an FTP sensor for the Del Sol, and I cant find one.

Any Del Sol experts chime in.

You go based off of the VIN on the del sol, do a parts search, verify with a honda parts dealer.

Don't have a Del Sol VIN to check, Parts searches don't turn one up but that could be due to it just being used off a corresponding civic, Honda dealers that I use only sell them for "civic" but I'm not sure I trust that for such an extremely limited run car.

If anyone has put their heads under one of these cars and looked at the tank corner that should have the sensor, please let me know.

Only 99-00 Civics had them, not on Del Sols.

Honda part number: 04101-P2P-A01

There are quite a few places on line claiming the some models of the 96-98 have them, maybe it was only in Canada?

We are going to find out for sure, picked up a OBD2A P30 to run my B16A2 swap in a 96 civic, we will see if the FTP code pops up.

Trust me, Del Sols don't have them since they stopped making them in '97 and the sensor was utilized 2 years later.

Incorrect. Older EKs had them too, depending whether or not they were California emissions compliant (KL).

OP, I believe all 1997 Del Sol VTECs were Federal emissions compliant only (KA) and therefore do NOT have a fuel tank vent pressure sensor.

There will be no code. I'm running a 99 Si B16A2 in a 1997 Civic LX with a 1997 OBD2A P30 and there is no code for it. The Del Sol VTEC was not California emissions compliant and therefore did not have the sensor.

Thanks for posting up your experience. Sounds like you have the same setup as me, and it looks like I'm on the right track.

Once car is back from rust repair Ill give this ECU a go and see what I get.

Thanks everyone!

Just to update this for future reference for anyone looking. The US P30 OBD2A ECU does not look for a FTP sensor.

Running a B16A2 from an EM1 in a 1996 CDM sedan originally Y7 equipped with this P30 ECU, and no code.
