Default Help H22A in an EG smoking like a champ

Here is the deal. I have a H22A swap in my car but the thing smokes. I have the AEM fuel rail and regulator. The current setting is at 40psi. If I turn it down it still smokes. I turned it down to about 27 and it still smoked like a champ. The car runs great but it's just blowing black smoke. Is there anything else I should look for. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try and Cross the TPS plug and the MAP...look at one of the plugs and look for the middle wire and look for a Green and white wire thats for the map...if the plugs are in the right place then forget what i said.....

I try and stay away from H22As....they give me a headache...

Thanks

black smoke usually means you are running rich. Check your plugs, let us know what they look like and we'll take it from there...

What ecu are you useing, if its chipped its probably waaaayy too rich in the low end. My friends car was that way, it ran shitty and had poor gas milage. With a vafc we leaned it out in the lowend and rich in the top. It fixed every from that black bumper to the drivability.

you can't even pull the car out of the garage if you swap these 2 plugs...no power.... no revs.... but no c.e.l. this is not your problem like kineistech asked what ecu are you running?

Indeed. But it also might mean that your valve stem seals are shot to ****.

NO...what i mean is maybe he crossed them and he doesnt even know it....i have dont it and its easy to cross those 2 things....thats what im saying...he maybe crossed them not to try and see if its better...i know you cant drive the car like that....All im saying is try and cross them and see that will make it run rich i know for a fact...the TPS and the MAP and the EGR valve plugs are the same and you can cross all 3 of those......and the car will run rich as ****....

Thanks

Thanks guys for all your advice. The car is sitting and I will try everything when I have access to it. This is my fuel setup and stuff maybe this could help. I'm running a GSR fuel pump, aem fuel regulator, and aem fuel rail. The PSI is reading bout 38 right now. The ECU I'm running is a chipped P28 so that might be the problem. I'm looking to get the VAFC in there when I have a chance. Okay don't laugh but street driving I'm getting like 80-100 miles on a full tank. That alone sucks. But on the highway I'm really not sure because my VSS broke on the drive to SEMA but I did get to Baker from Pasadena and still had a 1/4 tank of gas. So highway driving is okay but stop and go it's just too rich. Could this be the ECU? thanks guys
